UGH! Belly fat….

We’ve all got it; some of us more than others. No matter how much or how little excess fat we’ve got hanging around our midsection, we want to get rid of it. Our clothes don’t fit. Sometimes, that extra weight we’re carrying right there is so restricting, it’s difficult to breathe or bend and it makes us feel unhealthy and unattractive.

The thing about belly fat is; it’s stubborn. Once it’s there, it clings on for dear life. But the reason it’s there in the first place, and on some of us more than others, has a lot to do with our daily activity, but even more to blame are the types of foods we eat. Foods that turn to sugar and go straight for our gut. Exactly where we don’t want it. Because we don’t look or feel good with too much belly fat, but more importantly; carrying around too much excess weight in our mid-section, is bad for our health.

Now, keep in mind, these 4 Super Simple Ways to Get Rid of Belly Fat won’t give you abs of steel or the belly of your dreams, but they will help. If you’re committed to making these changes to your diet, you will notice a reduction in your amount of belly fat.  However, don’t forget, lifestyle is HUGE! If you’re consistently over-eating (even healthy foods) or you are inactive, any belly fat that does happen to shrink away will come back and especially if you resume your regular way of eating. Pay attention, not only to the quality of foods you’re eating, but the quantity, as well. Cut back, if necessary, but don’t starve. Stay active and exercise every day. Walk. Run. Do yoga. Anything to get your body moving to help you burn fat. Also, stress and hormones produced by stress can contribute to excess belly fat. Commit to daily practices like yoga, mediation, prayer, listening to relaxing music, soaking in a warm bath. Turn off the TV if the news is upsetting you, step away from Social Media for awhile, and power off your phone and other devices that keep you stuck in receive and react mode 24/7.  That will all help you manage your stress better. And, try not to sweat the small stuff and be sure to get sufficient rest every night.
